* Prices reflect private billing. Assessment prices for NDIS participants are billed at applicable NDIS rates.

Fees:
Custom report fees vary depending on purpose and complexity, generally billed at $235 per hour (including writing and administrative time) or specified NDIS rate with a valid plan.
Please note: We do not provide forensic reports or legal capacity assessments.
Payment plans available
We know a full assessment is a big investment. To make things easier, we offer flexible payment plans so you don’t have to cover the full cost upfront. You can spread payments out over a few instalments, and still get started straight away.
If you’d like to set up a plan, just let us know at your first appointment and we’ll work out what suits you best.
Start with an initial appointment
If you’re a new client, the process begins with booking an initial consultation costing $375 (Medicare or private health insurance rebate applies with valid referral or private health insurance policy). This 80-minute session is designed to understand your needs, confirm whether an assessment is appropriate, and plan the most suitable approach for you or your child. The consultation fee is separate and not deducted from the cost of the assessment.
If you’re an existing client and have already completed the initial consultation, you can proceed straight to booking your assessment.
We have an initial consultation rather than jumping straight into the assessment appointments and associated tasks because it ensures the process is tailored to your individual circumstances. This session allows us to gather essential background information, clarify your goals, and determine whether a full assessment is the right next step. It also helps us plan the most effective and efficient assessment pathway, so you receive the best possible care.

About Medicare and private health for assessment appointments
Medicare or private health insurance rebates can apply to the initial consultation for new clients, or for existing clients who have already had this session. However, rebates do not apply to any assessment appointments.
Assessment sessions, including those for ADHD, Autism, cognitive or academic functioning, and report writing, are privately billed because the Medicare system does not cover psychological assessments. Medicare rebates through a Mental Health Treatment Plan apply only to sessions focused on mental health treatment, such as therapy.
Private health insurance may offer partial rebates for psychological assessments depending on your level of extras cover. We recommend checking with your insurer to confirm whether assessment services by a registered psychologist are included in your policy.
If you are unsure whether an assessment is appropriate, we are happy to discuss this with you first. In some cases, if the initial session is mainly therapeutic and you have a valid referral, a Medicare rebate may apply. We will always explain the purpose of the session beforehand and let you know exactly how it will be billed.

By default, all payments are made securely through our case management software, Halaxy. Halaxy’s payment gateway is extremely secure and all card details are tokenised, meaning your card details are not visible to anyone at Skill Tree Psychology or Halaxy. However, if you are uncomfortable with utilising Halaxy’s payment system, we also offer EFTPOS and invoicing.
