Assessments
¹ We offer ADHD and Autism assessments only as a combined service for adults. This integrated approach reflects best clinical practice and ensures a more accurate and efficient diagnostic process.

Psychiatric Assessment Request Letters as appropriate (e.g. for NSW Police applications)

Fees:
Custom report fees vary depending on purpose and complexity, generally billed at $220 per hour (including writing and administrative time).
Please note: We do not provide forensic reports or legal capacity assessments.
Start with an initial appointment
To begin any assessment, you'll first book an 50-minute private initial consultation ($210).
This session allows us to explore your needs, determine whether assessment is suitable, and plan the most appropriate approach for you or your child.
If you proceed with a full assessment, the initial consultation fee is deducted from the total cost.
For example, for a combined adult ADHD and Autism assessment ($3,000), your remaining balance would be $2,790.

About Medicare and private health for assessment appointments
Assessment appointments, including the initial consultation, are privately billed and not eligible for Medicare rebates.
This is because the Medicare system does not cover psychological assessments (such as those for ADHD, Autism, cognitive or academic functioning, or report writing). Medicare rebates through a Mental Health Treatment Plan apply only to sessions focused on mental health treatment (i.e. therapy).
Private health insurance may offer partial rebates for psychological assessments depending on your level of extras cover. We recommend checking with your insurer directly to see if assessment services by a registered psychologist are included in your policy.
If you're unsure whether an assessment is appropriate, we're happy to discuss it with you first. In some cases, if the session is primarily therapeutic in focus and you have a valid referral, a Medicare rebate may be available. We'll always clarify the purpose of the session beforehand and let you know how it will be billed.

By default, all payments are made securely through our case management software, Halaxy. Halaxy’s payment gateway is extremely secure and all card details are tokenised, meaning your card details are not visible to anyone at Skill Tree Psychology or Halaxy. However, if you are uncomfortable with utilising Halaxy’s payment system, we also offer EFTPOS and invoicing.
